Route Calculation

Tool for performing topographic route adjustments using least squares. The module allows solving different scenarios (closed route case, nested route case with one or two references, nested route case where the reference is one of the stations…) as well as automatic drawing of radiated points.

Tool for performing operations and processes with point clouds. It allows performing the main operations to work and optimize point clouds: cut, join, reproject, clean, simplify, divide, color, move… The tool allows performing operations on single point clouds or preparing a batch process.

Presets Management

New management of Mapia adjustments and configurations using Presets. Mapia allows saving custom adjustments by name for each tool or process and applying them when necessary.

• I, Robot, by Isaac Asimov. With the rise of artificial intelligence, it’s a good time to revisit this science fiction classic that ponders the morality of people, robots, and questions the meaning of being human. Published in the 1950s, I, Robot remains as relevant as it was on day one.

• The Time of Cherries, by Montserrat Roig. Awarded with the Sant Jordi Prize, the novel explores the changes that occurred in Catalan society during the 1960s and 1970s through the eyes of its protagonists, in search of a lost paradise.

• The Name of the Wind, by Patrick Rothfuss. The first part of a still unfinished fantasy trilogy that caused a furor when it was published. A fresh and original proposal in a genre plagued by copies of The Lord of the Rings. Far from the solemn tone of epics, its fast-paced pace and the world that surrounds Kvothe’s story manage to captivate anyone who gives it a chance.

From the perspective of those of us who work with geospatial data and, specifically, cartography, this journey through time that the author takes, explaining and analyzing the evolution of “the city” through different plans, is interesting.

• The Sandman, by Neil Gaiman. It is widely considered one of the most original, sophisticated and artistically ambitious graphic novel series. A classic that never goes out of style, a timeless gem that should be read by anyone who loves comics.
